Another...

Tues, Troll called the pediatric office to get a referral for Jet's appointment with the different Ortho doc on Monday (since we had to have one even though the actually scheduled the appointment). As of yesterday we still hadn't heard back from the Peds office....which was really odd cause that doc is usually right on top of things AND she's the one that ordered the MRI, etc. SO last night Troll called and the receptionist said, Sir, there is no referral here and I'm sorry but you will have to see a doctor before we can give you one.

Now you must understand that after 5 months of this type of thing now.....Daddy-o was not impressed. He said, "Ma'am, listen....I know it's not your fault...but I am NOT having my daughter come in there to be looked at just to get a referral. She's been bounced around now for 5 months and she's already been seen by our pediatrician there and I'm just not doing it." The receptionist said," Sir, I know your frustrated but that's the way we have to work things." He said," Ma'am...I don't mean to be ugly or put this on you because you don't have a horse in this race and I know this is just your job that you are doing but again...I will NOT do this. I am not bending to all this stupid red tape that insurances demand and yada yada just because I need a referral. I have an appointment for Monday that I am NOT canceling just because you want her in there to be looked at by a doctor who is going to say what I already know and that is that she needs to go to an orthopedic surgeon!" The receptionist said, "Sir, talk to me. Tell me what is goin on."

So Troll proceeded to tell her how Jet sprained her ankle in February, how in April we noticed something was drastically wrong, how we went here and there and ended up at the Ortho we'd been going to, how he wouldn't even do an MRI until the Pediatric doctor demanded one and then after doing the MRI lied to us and said all she had was bone damage. And then he followed up with, "Again...I don't mean to take this out on you because as I've said...you don't have a horse in this race and you are just doing your job....however....I will NOT do this just because it's protocol." The receptionist said, "Sir, you are preaching to the choir and I DO have a horse in this race because this is totally unacceptable. You see...I'm sitting here in a wheelchair...so I know the frustrations of having something wrong. I'm going to book you for first thing in the morning with the founder of this entire practice. He normally doesn't work on a Saturday but it just so happens that he had to fill in for a physician that is out of town! He's a great man, wonderful Pediatrician and in fact, I owe the life of my granddaughter to him because he saved her life while my daughter was pregnant with her. I'm double booking this slot because your daughter needs to be seen by him. And if theres anyone that could move heaven and earth to get something done....It's this doctor. I may get in trouble because I've double booked this time slot...but I have put you in and there is an URGENT note right beside your daughters name. And sir, please call me and let me know how things go and I'm so very sorry you guys have been jerked around and lied to and now your daughter is suffering and in pain."

So that's our story and I'm sticking to it! Lol! We are leaving here in a few minutes to go to the head honcho dude! :) I pray things soon start looking up for her. She has been an amazing girl throughout this entire mess. Only once has she come to me and said, "Mom...I just want all this over with. I'm tired of it all." I'm proud of her for not complaining when she could be getting really frustrated and miserable. She is in pain allot now but rarely does she even tell me that. I have such a beautiful daughter, inside and out. And I'm thankful I get to be her mom. Keep praying, people!! Somethings gotta happen with this foot!
