Psychotic Saga

O boy..... there is a fine line between exasperation and feeling as if you're about to be admitted to the psych ward! That point in your life where you end up laughing with this demented kind of utterance which doesn't really come out as true laughter but what else do you call it?

So....the foot appointment. You know...the one we had to take Jet to today to start the Botox treatments. The one that we've been trying to figure out since June 29th WHY exactly we were supposed to go to. The one that we had scheduled for Oct. 4th and upon letting the Pediatric doc know we were getting no where...she wrote a script to get us into whatever neurologist would accept us the quickest.

Now the reason for my psychotic state of mind.......

Troll took Jet. The neurologist (of whom Jet says was very attractive indeed and she'd be more than willing to go see him on a daily basis! lol) looked at Jet, talked to Troll, had Jet do a few things and basically LONG story short..... told Troll there was no way that Botox would do ANYTHING. His nurses called our Ortho asking for a copy of the MRI report (of which we hadn't seen until today). They faxed it to the Neurologist. And now comes the part where the stuff hits the fan!! But first...let me back up a tad.....

Remember that the only reason we even got an MRI was due to the Peds doc demanding one and when I told Ortho that she wanted one, Ortho says he didn't think an MRI was necessary but if I wanted one....ok. To which I had replied that I most assuredly DID want one. MRI was done....Ortho tells me the results..............in HIS word choosing of "the MRI shows that there is deff bruising clear down into the bones but doesn't show any break/fracture so I still feel that it is her muscles freezing up that has prevented movement of the foot so lets get her into a specialist to get Botox shots to loosen her muscles".

Now back to today....... the very FIRST thing on the MRI reads.... "...with ligamentous damage in the sinus Tarsi, suspected tear of the spring ligament...." Um HELLO!!!!!! I'm no doctor, never wanted to be one. HOWEVER.....when I felt after a few visits that he wasn't being very thorough and stated as much only to have told me in return that I didn't have the right to be upset over my daughter's condition and that they never dismiss cases and furthermore they do their jobs correctly.....well....now I'm a not too happy individual. And ol' daddy...well he non too happy either. The neurologist couldn't believe the whole situation and told Troll plainly that, even though he isn't an Ortho doc....it doesn't take a very smart person to realize that this is an ORTHO case because the problem is her ligaments and bones right there at the ankle joint and looks to him like surgery is inevitable!! Furthermore Botox isn't even something used for that type of situation and wouldn't have been covered by Ins. due to it being a non approved type of procedure.

After examining Jet more (in fact...he as a Neurologist did more things with her foot than her actual ORTHO did!! Go figure!!), talking even more with Troll, the Neurologist got all the paperwork and signatures he needed and handed them to his nurse and told her to send it all to an Ortho office that they work with personally. We are now waiting on that office to call us.

Now do you see why I'm laughing a bit psychotically????? And Jet is laughing about all of us! :))
