A.M. Antics
I know that April Fool's is such a highlight of different people...especially kids. And I'll have to admit that watching the kids prank each other is cute and makes me laugh. But I've never been one to do anything on that day cause it always seems so obvious. So I saved mine :) Until this a.m. :) Troll is such a sweetheart and treats me so lovingly on a Sunday a.m. (not that he doesn't other days!). Saturday night he'll ask me what time I want up (whether I have cooking to do or ironing determines the time from Sun to Sun) and then Sun a.m. he'll make coffee and bring me a cup at the time I asked to be awakened cause he knows I hate alarm clocks with a passion. So this a.m. was no different. To a degree. :) I had asked him to wake me up at 7 cause I didn't really have that much to do. At 6:40 I woke up. For some odd reason I started laughing. I don't even know what brought the idea into my head but I quickly acted. Since we use feather pillows, and there are at least 4 and sometimes more on our bed, they are easily fluffed and formed to make a very convincing "figure" in the bed. I fluffed and scurried, pulled the blankets up around the "head" (as I'm prone to do cause I'm always freezing) and ran to the other side of the room. I scooted the glider rocker back a bit, sat down, grabbed two pairs of his pants that he had laying on the ironing board and a towel off the floor and covered myself up on the chair and waited....completely covered cept for my eyes. 7:03. I hear the stairs creaking. He walked in to our dark room, sat the coffee cup on my dresser and went to his side of the bed and laid down and threw his arm around the "person" to wake them up! LOL! There was absolute silence and no movement from him or the "person". About 45 seconds later he stood up, looked at the bed and went to turn on the light. I so wish I could describe the look on his face as he turned, with hand on the wall, and once again just stared at the bed with absolute befuddlement. I was laughing so hard, tears streaming down my face, and all the while willing the chair to not creak from my constrained laughter. Out of the room he walked as he went to each of the kids' rooms...lookin for me!! Less then a minute later he came back in, stood at the door with a hand on the wall and stared again at the bed. :) I don't know what he thought might happen in that time frame or if he thought maybe the pillows would magically transform into me but let me tell you it was classic. He looked back out into the hallway and then back to the bed and I couldn't keep quiet any longer! LOL!!! As I pulled the pants down off my face and covered my face with my hands to let out the gut wrenching laughter I'd been holding in he looked at me with a mixture of surprise, bewilderment and frustration and exclaimed, "What exactly are you doing?" Lol!!! It was so funny. So, so funny. That was my April Fool's.....a few days late :)
