Epic Fail!!

Oiii!! What to say. Where to start. The begining.

Well....back during camp (yup...in Feb)  my dear Jet twisted her ankle. For a few days I made her do minimum walking/steppage of any sort, kept it wrapped in ace bandage and kept her supplied in ibuprofen. After a few days she stopped limping and told me it wasn't hurting anymore.

Occaisionally I have seen her limping and would ask her, does it hurt? To which she'd reply, "Nah!!"

Well last month, walking behind her one day, I noticed a very odd slant (inward) of her ankle. And she was limping drastically. I mentioned it to her and she said it did hurt some. I scheduled an appointment with our PCP and the day arrived.....WITH SHOCK!!!!

As I'm sitting there waiting for the doc to come in I'm looking at her foot and talking to Jet about it. Come to find out (I'm such a horrid mother!! LOL!!) she can't bend her foot AT ALL. It doesn't budge even a centimeter!! From ankle down to toes there is not the first stitch of movement! I said, JET!!! Why didn't you tell me? (I don't make it a habit of going around asking my kids if all their body parts are moving properly.) She said, I din't think it mattered, mom!! WHAT???! You literally have no mobility in your entire foot, including ankle, and you didn't think it mattered???? Sigh.

So PCP comes in, is shocked to the point of mouth hanging open at odd angles and constantly looking at me like I'm shameful for not asking my kids if their body parts all move properly, and says, "And this happened 3 months ago???" I'm like, lady, she never ever told me it didn't move AT ALL!!! And when it had first gotten hurt it moved fine.

She gasps, exclaims how she has no clue what is wrong with her foot and orders an X-ray. X-ray is taken and the office calls the house to say there's nothing wrong. Hmmm....from knee down my daughter's leg/foot is a solid object with NO mobility!!!

Next we call and schedule a visit to Orthopaedics. Which we went to yesterday. He walks in and says, "O!! That's bent way wrong!! Where's your x-ray?" To which I reply, I wasn't given one...they said it was fine!! He says, "Nah....I'm taking another one!!"

He takes another x-ray....there's nothing that shows up!!! So he writes out an RX for a CT scan and says to do it immed. I asked him what he thought it could poss be. He says, "Well....it could either be her muscles have decided to completely lock up or it could be a disorder that we thought didn't exist anymore!!" So I turned to Jet and said, "You have something that doesn't exist!" Lol!!! Then he says, "Mom, I want you to go to her room and try to bend her foot while she's asleep. If it moves, we'll know its muscle related."

Snort!!! Anyone ever tried to go into your kids room in the middle of the night and bend a foot that a male doc couldn't even budge when he was using every ounce of strength he possesed to do so? AND do it without waking that kid up? Ha!!! Problem is...this kid wakes up the minute someone nudges her bed!!! I tried 4 times last night before I was successful (on the 5th try). And NO...the foot didn't budge!!!

Epic fail!!!

(will post more......when I know more!!)
