Had surgery yesterday to D-gall bladder me!! lol!! Got to hospital at 8. Went thru all the pre stuff they have to do. Got dressed in the lovely socks and gown that hospitals so lovingly provide and was sitting on the bed chatting with Troll when a lady walked past that i thought looked very familiar.
Next thing I knew...a man walked past, glanced in and stopped dead in his tracks. A few seconds later i realized my mouth was hanging open as I sat there staring at a life long family friend all the way from Kentucky!! Richard Lehman!! I was like, oh my word...what are you doing here!!! Up to that point I was very nervous with the whole surgery situation and the waiting and whatnot. Upon seeing him it was like everything just vanished. Which leads me to believe even more strongly that God knew all the hassle we'd go thru to get us to that point, time and place so that I could see someone that would set me at ease.
We chatted for a little bit and then started all the proceedures of pre surgery. The IV getting started (my veins...for the first time in my life, wouldn't cooperate and it took them a little bit to find one. they finally did and it was in my left hand right along my thumb. hurt like the dickens!), the shot of heprin (or however u spell that) in my tummy (which felt like a couple bees inside me stinging away), the pregnancy test (LOL!!!), blood pressure...yada yada! After about an hour i was taken to the pre-op room to talk to the surgeon, anisthesiologist and numerous nurses that all asked my name, bday and why i was there. At about 9:50 they gave me a shot to start relaxing me and I remember being wheeled back the hall and that is it. :)
Surgery took about 45 min. The surgeon (who by the way was a Christian and wearing a Steelers scrub hat!!!) went out to talk to Troll and informed him that everything went really well and he was happy with it all. I remember waking up in severe pain and three nurses around me trying to get me to breath and concentrate. I ended up getting 2 shots and a pill b4 I was even allowed out to the recovery room where I woke up to seeing my mom standing there...something I didn't think was going to happen due to their schedule. From that point on she took over and took care of me! :) There's just something about a mom that helps ya feel so much better. She fed me ice chips, chapsticked my poor dry lips and chatted with me. :) Dad was in for just a few moments and then they started to undo IV and stuff so they had to leave.
Around 2 they started sitting me up. That was really woozy. Took me about 10 minutes to get my bearing. Then came the standing. LOL!!! A sight to behold for sure!! After all that we got discharged and were home soon after 3.
I've been in quite a bit of pain and having issues sleeping but its nice to be in my own surroundings. Troll was home today and poss tomoro...duno about that yet. Beeps is really excited to have her daddy here all to herself.
Thanks to all of your prayers, the food, the taking care of our kids and the beautiful flowers that have been sent by our church and Bro/Sis Plank. They are making the house look and smell beautiful!
