Funnies

Yesterday we got 40 dozen ears of corn to do. With help different times from Troll and the kids...I worked 11 hours and we got 74 qts of home cut corn in our freezer! So very thankful for this. Troll had to take the youngest three to the dentist for a few hours so it was just me, Jetta and Aust working. Troll told me the following story when they got back....

A couple days ago Troll had been telling the kids that our new dentist was from the country of India so that made him Indian. Eth evidently found this rather fascinating and musta mulled this one over quite awhile. He eventually went to Troll and said, "Daddy, when our dentist comes into the room to do my teeth, will he be wearing an Indian suit?" :)

And this story happened while we four older ones were all working in the kitchen on the corn....

Aust and Jetta were my corn cleaner/put in pot/take outa pot/put in sink to cool/put on dish rack to drain/put on counter for mommy to cut people. At one point I looked up from cutting corn and saw Aust was turned completely away from the sink while supposedly cleaning the corn. I said, Aust...you can't expect to get something clean that you're not looking at. He immed retorted with, "But mom, I don't look at my back side to clean it!!" LOL!!! I was proud of him that he came off with something so quickly. It used to take me days, when I was his age, to come off with a humorous reply to something!! My brothers used to always laugh at me! So cheers to Aust for mastering humor with a quick reply!

I'm a very thankful person for the humor that flies around this house. Allot of you might not understand our type per se and might find it almost offensive. However, each of our kids and us spend many a time around the table or being somewhere together laughing. I know that not every family is blessed as we are and I don't ever wanna take that for granted. I'm forever grateful for the humor that Troll and I have. We both love sarcasm and our kids are learning it can be fun as well when done in the right manner.

So there ya go...two things that gave us laughs recently.
