Thanksgiving

Wow!! What a long, fun-filled couple days. I went to my mom's on Wednesday to be able to be there to help with preperations for Thanksgiving day. I set up her tree for her when I got there so that was out of the way.

Thanksgiving Day went well and it was nice to be with family and friends. We took the kids over to the gym for a bit and played basketball and volleyball. It'd been so long since I'd played volleyball that I've sore arms! But we had fun.

We'd planned on getting up at 3 a.m. on Friday to go shopping and decided that we would leave and go to the outlets in Hagerstown. Once the kids fell asleep Troll and I got in our truck and left. It was 11:40 p.m. (Thurs). Drove down to the outlets and for the next hour and 1/2 drove through the parking lot at creep speed trying to find a spot. It was crazy. We witnessed numerous incidents where it left me wondering if people had been injured. There were people that would walk thru the parking lot and find an empty spot, stand there and wait for their party to bring their vehicle around. One incident ivolved three vehicles all nosed to get in and their parties standing there in the spot arguing, screaming and all kinds of motions. Another one was a guy standing in the spot and a lady pulls up. She wanted the spot bad. He turned his back to her and crossed his arms. She nosed her car up until she was touching his legs. I honestly didn't look anymore! I was afraid she'd decided to run over him! Anyway...after 1 and 1/2 hours of that we decided that we weren't going through anymore so we left and went to the mall to get a spot. Since it opened at 3:30 and we didn't want to go thru driving around for hours we got a parking spot at 1:30 and then walked over to Shoney's for breakfast. I've never eaten breakfast so early in my life!

The mall opened at 3:30. We went through there and got some of the things we went there specifically for. Next we drove to Target. They opened at 5 and we got there a few minutes before. Honestly...I've never seen so many people at a store in all my life. It was a mass of mess. Wrapped clear around everywhere. Doors opened and from the parking lot came another mass of humanity. They rushed the doors trying to get in ahead of all the people in line. Since there was a baracade of carts in front of those to prevent that there were people jumping and shoving and pushing. Shouts and curses rang out and went balisitc. Troll and I looked at each other and said, "Nah...I don't think so!" We opted to go to Kolhs!! Walked down there and it was all that kind of mess INSIDE the store! So we left, drove to McDonald's to grab coffee, and headed to Walmart. We were there almost three hours. Kmart, Sam's Club, Target and then to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch. Got back to my mom's around 1 p.m. tired and feeling ready to crash but happy that we conquered!! We left there and got home at 4ish. I was in bed soon after 6 and sound asleep! I woke up at almost midnite and realized that everyone else had crashed and didn't know it!! Lights were on, computer on!!! I got up at 7:15 this morning after 12 hours of sleep!!!

So that was our expierience for Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday. Ready and willing to do it all again next year.
