Ok, ok...I'm really sorry. I've been such a slacker with this blog thing. We no longer have a home phone line due to complications so I can't do the email/blog thing at home. For me to come over to the school is like pulling teeth out of a goldfish!! NOT GOOD!! You'll just to excuse me. I tried arguing with Verizon quite extensively and they just wouldn't see my side unless they came out for a minimum visit of $96!! I didn't think it was all that important to have a phone line when I'd not had service for a good three weeks. So now we're back to square one..."always" running to school for the use of internet capabilities.
Tons of things have occured - or so it seems. Troll turned 35 on the 12th and I didn't get on here to say "happy bday" to him. So I'll do that now. "Happy Bday, babe!!" He came home from school and Yancy was sitting in our living room. I'd been secretly texting to Yancy for a week to get him to come and steal Troll away for his bday. It was so funny when Troll walked in. He sat down and chatted for a tad and then I said, well you guys better get out of here before the kids get home from school. Troll whipped around in his chair and said, "What are you talking about?" I said, don't worry about it. Grab your bag there and get out of here!! He was so flustered. It was great!! They went to Lancaster to the American Music Theatre and then went back to Yancy's place. Saturday they went to Mahaffy to get together with a gang of people to ride four wheelers and "the rhino"! (No, I didn't have a clue what it was either!!) He got home sometime on Saturday evening. He and Yancy came hobbling in. Yancy said, "Just think...in another few years we'll be doing this in wheelchairs!!" See what happens when you turn 35?
Something else that happened. We've found two snakes in our basement. The first one was found by the kids. They were not in the least thrilled. You ever hear a stampede up stairs??? We had one when it was found. Funny thing was that it was only about 4" long. Just a little tyke but it scared them half silly to have found it in the basement. We knew if there was one baby down there that there were bound to be numerous others. (Great...mom will never come to our house again to sleep!!! We'll wake up in the middle of the night to see we've someone other than our kids in bed with us!) A couple days later I was in the playroom picking up a blanket and under it was another one. I can't remember what it was called but dad gave me the info on them and they are in the garter snake family. I can handle a snake over a spider any day!! Ethan is now petrified to go to the basement. I'm glad I found the second one as Bia was down there playing. The way she likes to french-kiss animals....
Monday Troll was leaving to go to a PTF meet and greet thing. He sent the three oldest kids out the door, kissed me and the two youngest good-bye and walked out the front door...slamming it like always. ONLY this time...the cat had forgot to turn tail and run. I heard the worst hollering I'd ever heard from a cat as Troll opened the door and apologized to Scotch. I was sitting at the table sewing so just exclaimed over the fact that he'd smashed the cat's tail in the door and went back to sewing. Probably 10 minutes later I noticed the cat was maddly dashing around (like mad)! I decided to get up and see what his problem was. I stood up and almost fell right back down. Blood was everywhere. From my shoulder height down, all over floors, down the basement steps, in the boy's bathroom, walls, stove, fridge....EVERYWHERE!! It seriously looked like someone had taken a paintbrush and did ballet in my house. It was a mess. Scotch hadn't stopped dashing maddly about so I grabbed him and for the next 30 minutes attempted to bandage the dumb thing. Now.............. have you ever tried to cut a bandage, hold a cat, hold a swishing tail and wrap a swishing tail all at the same time by yourself. It was a circus. We went through TONS of bandage stuff as I'd just get it started and he'd break loose. I knew it had to be bandaged as it was still bleeding and I didn't want to have to follow him around all night scrubbing blood. Finally I got it under control after half a roll of medical tape and a gouge in my right leg later. I then gave him some kids Motrin (hey, that's all I had) and got out the rags, mop and Mr. Clean. THAT took forever. Of course since I hadn't known all this blood was being spattered everywhere it had had decent time to dry. And then the length it took attempting to bandage the poor cat....well...let's just say it was not a fun scrub of a night. And then to top it off Hannity pooped in the basement and pee'd on the leg of our pool table. I was ready to ship 'em all off to Bongo-bongo land!!
Ever since this situation with the cat getting 2" of his tail hacked in the front door by his over exuberant "dad"....I do believe he's (the cat) been a bit troubled over exactly what gender he is. I've found him dragging these around and so I thought I'd put pictures of him on here so you could see. If anyone knows of a pet whisperer....
"Awww....why did she have to put my picture with the pink flowers on here?"
This is a picture of....well US of course!! This was from ordination Sunday. I figured since his bday was last Friday and I didn't get a picture of him on here and my bday is Saturday (YIKES...the big, SCARY #30!!)...I'd put a picture of us both on here. Yes, as you can see in the picture, my hair is red. Be thankful though. This was the way muted down version of my red locks. This was after a double dip of brown!!

Welcome back to the blogging world! I've missed ya! That must be a pain not having a phone line. Well, so much to comment on! The poor cat! He must be traumatized! He'll be scared of slamming doors forever. And the mess! Yuck! And snakes in the basement! I would freak out! My question is, if they are babies, where is the mother? Happy birthday to both of you! Nice picture, by the way. The big 30 is not so bad. One year is about the same once you're over the hump. Sounds like Troll had a nice birthday. That was sweet of you to arrange all that.
Hey we've missed you!! So sorry about the cat. That must have hurt. OUCH!! Sorry about the snakes too. I surely would be like the kids. Petrified!! Love the picture of you two. You still look quite young for the "30's." HeeHee. Wait until you reach the lovely "40's." They are a blast!!
