Reagan News

Well we had Reagan to Geisinger last Monday. The eye doctor was quick to realize that his glasses were wrong for him. Which leads down a long story road but I'll refrain. Basically the place we got Reagan's glasses accidentally switched his lenses to the wrong sides and cost his vision in his bad eye. When we moved from Ohio to PA he was almost 20/20 in his bad eye and is now 20/400 in that eye. Due to them putting the thicker lens on his good eye (R) and the thin on his bad eye (L) he now can't see at all with his glasses on. He quit using his bad eye and is totally messed up. I'm frustrated over all of it as now we have to go back through the mess of patching constantly and I'm afraid what it is going to do to him with school and all. As of now he's not wearing glasses. The place switched the lenses back but due to his eyes getting "used" to the wrong stuff he can't see out of either side with the glasses. We are waiting for them to get new prescription in so that we can get him back on the right road. He put them on and just started crying. I couldn't stand the tears so I said to not wear them at all. So far it's not caused him to suffer in his school but I'm wondering what is going to happen when we start patching his good eye again. We've been through all this and had surgery when he was three years old and he was doing soooooo good. Thank the Lord the eye doctor said he shouldn't have to have surgery; that the patch should get him down the right path. I was so thankful for that. The lady at the eye glass place was very apologetic and said she'd find out who had caused this situation and caused him to "loose" sight in this eye. They are also paying for his new lenses. THAT was a HUGE blessing. Not that I needed that blessing at this time as far as having my son's vision failed due to an error in an eye glasses place!!! So, if you think of him...please pray for him. He started crying when I told him he had to start wearing the patch again all the time. It really wears on him. We did if for numerous months before his surgery and they finally opted for surgery. This time surgery isn't needed but it's going to be grueling to him I'm sure.

So sorry to hear of the mess-up and the resulting challenges you will be facing in the days and weeks ahead. May God give the strength, wisdom, and encouragement that your family and especially Reagan will need during this time.

Sorry to hear that Gwen. I hope they can get this whole mess straightened out for you. One thing is for sure...God is in control and He know exactly what Reag needs. Did that happen because he fell off of our bed? I sure hope not. That would make me want to cry. Talk to you soon. ***now to type in those letters at the bottom*** :):)
