Sunday Morning Memories
Wellllll then. Here's what we walked out to this morning as we were getting in the truck to go to church! We got a grand and glorius sunny side up! Our street had gotten quite an egging. This was even after Troll had cleaned quite a bit off. Whole hunks of shell were hanging off. it was a royal mess. I managed to get off the window what I could with the ice scrapper, hot water and soap. However the stuff all down the door and in the cracks are gonna have to wait until tomorrow. Bia was so traumatized. This is her window and when she saw "the chicken all over my door" (as she said it) she freaked. She was literally shaking her whole car seat her body was shaking so bad!! Poor thing. I finally had to reach back and give her my hand which she held with both her hands to keep her calmed. She rode the whole way to church with her eyes squeezed shut. She didn't want to go to church tonight until I'd confirmed her question of, "Did you get all the yucky chicken off my door?" Nothing like a fine egging to welcome you to town.

Pix
Here is Bia's room. It was already painted this purple before we arrived. Since it was the perfect color I just left it. It's a small room so she got it. She refuses to sleep in here as she's scared! She sacks out with any and all of her siblings. If you look really hard in this picture you will notice that the baby sitting in her kitchen setup is eating a wind-up brain and a pickle!!
This is one side of Reag and Ethan's room. They are spiderman freaks.
I hate it when the pictures don't go in the order you want them to. Sorry.
Austin needs to clean up his room before I attempt pictures of it! He doesn't have a comforter set yet. We want to go camo but they are pretty expensive. I couldn't find curtains I liked so I bought a twin sheet set of camo and cut the flat sheet and made my own valances. Then Bia had a jumper that was too small and didn't fit right anyway. I took the brass fixtures off of it to use on the valances. Kinda ruggedly neat. Guess you'll see those whenever he cleans his room!

Decisions
I decided...after looking at my youngest two's faces during lunch...that I would never again attempt potato cakes. :-{ I, for the life of me, can't figure out WHAT I'm doing wrong. This was my third and last attempt and unfortunately I didn't get the charm that is supposed to happen on the third try! The poor dears sat there and pushed them around and around on their plates while looking at me and swallowing. I did them just like my mom in law said and they were horrid! Hers are always great. I just can't figure it out. Austin has often commented on how he's glad for a mom that can just throw things together and it turns out well. Troll has commented on how he hates it when I throw things together as I never remember what I did and everyone always loves it. What's the scoop with the potato cakes? Do enlighten me. Course I'm not ever going to make them again but you could enlighten me. Cooking is like second nature to me. I LOVE it with a passion. Spices are fun. I like to see what all I can concoct. Potato cakes....bad juju!!

He IS cute!
See what Troll brought for me last Wednesday! He left saying he was going to the bank. About 20 minutes later he came back with these and a hazlenut cappucino. I was smiling like a cheshire cat. We have a flower shop two doors down from us. He'd gone in and asked for a long stemmed rose. The lady pointed to these and said, "How about those?" He looked at them and the price and said, "Do I get the vase, too?" She turned to her boss and the boss said, "Why not!" So he bargained and bought!! Wasn't that the sweetest thing? The lady said, "Is this a birthday or anniversary?" Troll told her it wasn't. She said, "Aww...is it just because?" He answered that it was. She was enthralled!!!! Thanks, babe, for doing this. It meant more than you'll ever know. Wish words had a better way of explaining. I've never been someone that needed things to make me happy; flowers and candy included in that. However, it means all the more when he knows that and still does it on occaision. It's kinda hard to tell on the pictures but they are lavender roses with some sort of lavender spray flower. My favorite flower is a lilac so this was awesome to see as it was the exact color and almost resembled lilacs when you looked at it all together.
Remember....jealousy is forbidden!!! :-)

More
Here are some more pix of the house. This is one wall in Troll's study.
Looking at the kitchen from the dining room. The big cupboard on the right is floor to ceiling and about 2 and 1/2 feet deep. I keep the chair handy to reach most of the shelves and then it's... "TROLL!!!!" :-)
The other end of Troll's study. The door to the right leads to a small foyer and the front door. His study and the ajoining bath/shower room used to be a dentist office back in the 1940's.
The aforementioned bath/shower room. The actual spot where the toilet and sink are was the previous staircase to the front of the house basement.

new member pix
Here are the long awaited pictures of the newest member to the family. "Palin" joined us at Thanksgiving. She's a real fiesty little girl. Hannity didn't like her at first but has found that she's a great thing to drag around by her collar!!! :-)
If you notice in the top picture...her right ear bends backwards instead of forwards or upright!! It is adorable now but I'm afraid that when she is Hannity's size that it'll look like we got stuck with the village idiot!! Oh wait!! I'm married to that title!!! Hee, heee.

Bad news
Ok. So I will most likely get hammered for telling this one. Just had to though.
Bia came running to the stairs hollering, "Mother! Daddy wants in." Story? Wellllll.....
Troll let Hannity out without hooking him to his lead (like...ahem...I told him he needed to do). It's 10:32 p.m. here. Troll goes back to the kitchen door to let Hannity in.....no Hannity. So he slips on his coat to step right outside our door. Unbeknownst to him Bia is lurking around the corner and shuts and locks the door. Hence her coming to get me. I go downstairs to unlock the door as I heard him out there hollering. I open the door....ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, snicker...there stands my preacher dear in coat and underwear!!!!! Bia pulled a fast one on him. Ha, ha, ha

Cute
Last night in church Troll was preaching away. Bia was paying unusual attention to him when all the sudden she said out loud, "He's cute!"
It was all I could do to NOT laugh out loud. I was sitting there shaking with laughter and caught Troll looking at me a couple times as if to try and figure out what he'd just said wrong. How could I convey to him that it wasn't what he said but something his daughter said?! She must've been in rare form as right before we'd gone in to sit down we were out shaking hands. One lady walked in and stopped to talk to Troll. I saw Bia scoot on the floor up beside the lady and started to rub her hand up and down her leg!! :-0 Yikes!

What's the deal?
So today my doorbell rings. I go to the door, dishtowel in hand, to see who it was. Hmmm...this was the same man that wrote our ticket for parking in the two hour parking longer than two hours when we couldn't find any other place to park. Wait a minute. I didn't have a vehicle parked outside as Troll had it at school. What was he doing on my porch. Yes? "I'm the code enforcement officer and you have to do your sidewalk in front of your house as soon as possible. It is only going to get colder and this is ice." OK. I walked back into the house and then thought of the one hundred and fifty things I could have said. Like....the only salt I have is cooking salt, I can't take my kids out in this weather to WALK to a place to get salt, I don't have a vehicle to go BUY salt, I didn't even KNOW that we had to take care of the sidewalk and wouldn't a WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD THIS IS OUR LAW comment have been allot nicer than "you have to do this immediately". Arrgghh!! I knew if I didn't do something I'd end up with another fine and at which point I would have crumbled into a heap and cried. :-) So I called one very trusty lady up and she left her job to come and personally deal with our sidewalk. Man, I love her to pieces!! I wasn't expecting that at all. I was just wondering what I was to do and she offered. Thanks, Sam, a million and one times. (I think I'm ready to move again!)

Mortified!
So...Wednesday night...
Church Wednesday night was one service I'll not forget for some time. Troll went to WVA on Tuesday due to a family situation. Wednesday was kinda yucky as far as weather was concerned so I knew not many people would be to church and I most likely would have to play the piano (which is all fine and dandy if Troll is there to watch the kids...which he wasn't). Bro. Zechman was the fill in speaker. We got through two songs with the kids being little angels. Then we had prayer and offering. I thought that was it. Wrong. The song leader decided we'd sing another song. Through the entire four verses plus choruses of that song my two youngest decided they'd had enough with sitting in the pew with their siblings and moved to the altar. Not good. Ethan had taken a few of his little action figures up with him and they jumped these men up and down on the altar and fought each other aggressively while I cringed the whole way through the playing. Jet and Aust were just as mortified and were sitting there with horror written on their faces but they didn't know what to do. Let's just say that when the song was done...I didn't even hold the sustain pedal like you're supposed to. I stood up and marched the two "dears" out the back door. Needless to say, I didn't really want to go back in but I knew that it wasn't a question of whether I wanted to or not. WHAT NEXT?!!!!!

Pictures.
Here are the "promised" pictures of the house. This is one end of the living room.
The staircase that "sold" me on the house.
Another shot of the living room. Hey! The place is huge. Kinda hard to get it all in one shot. Besides...three shots of one room is more detail specific.
This is a very tiny shot of Jet's room. Strawberry pink with lime curtains, tangerine bean bag and splattered colored bedspread. It's her ALL the way around.
This is our room. I'm sorry. I can't manuver cameras around walls and doors. Our room is pretty big.
These are a few shots of the place. We have 5 bedrooms and a bath upstairs. Living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, study and bath downstairs. Large attic and (dungeonistic) basement. We really like the place allot and are so grateful to be here where we feel God is going to use us to further HIS kingdom.

Moved!!
Well for those of you that didn't know...we moved. December first actually. I wasn't able to put it on the blog due to our attempt to keep it from Troll's family as they were coming in for the New Year and we wanted to surprise them. I plan to post pictures soon. We've been working like dogs to get the place painted and cleaned and unpacked. Hardly seems possible at all that we've lived here over a month already. We all love it and are so grateful to be in the community where we feel God has a plan for us. Thank you to those of you that reached out to help us with our work. Especially to my parents for going to PVBI (while I was at the new place painting) to pack up what was left to pack. If it wouldn't have been for them I'd have been a worse basket case than I am!! thanks to those of you that brought in food and especially to Jenny for sticking by my side for a couple days as we moved paint brushes up and down and up and down. Things happened so fast that we've been shaking our heads trying to clear the cobwebs!! The house was found the Sat. before Thanksgiving and the lease started the day after Thanksgiving. We moved the Monday AFTER Thanksgiving! Whoosh!!! Talk about a whirlwind. Anyway...I'll post pictures ASAP. Still attempting to get things settled. We had things pretty well accomplished as far as what we could do until the painters came to fix one room that was pretty disastrous and the hallway upstairs. Now everything is all disheveled again as they are doing their thing. Bear with me.
