Another one!

And now...on to another anniversary wish! I was never more amazed, before I got married to Troll, to find out our parents had been married the same year but one day apart! And our dad's are the same age with sons the same age! But that's not what I came on here to say.
I want my in laws to know that I wish them a very happy anniversary of 36 years. I couldn't have asked for better parents in law. They so readily welcomed me as part of the family with hugs and kisses and smacks!! (The last is an inside joke that I will not share!) I love you guys so much. We all do. Here's wishing you many more years together.

Wishes

Just wanted to wish my parents a very happy anniversary today. Through the past 36 years they've been married they've gone down numerous paths, seen lots of things and shared tons of wisdom. I love my parents so much and thank God everyday for who they are, what they stand for and how they raised me. Not everyone out there can boast what I have been blessed with. Dad and Mom, you mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for all you've done for us, the prayers you've prayed for us, the tears and laughter you've shared with us and how you've loved us through it all. My wish is that you have many more years together. All our love.

Not sure if Bia thought this poor rabbit needed a bath or if she just figured it was high time it was potty trained. Regardless of her thoughts....it was a mess!!

Mom'd be proud!!

So you're wondering about the title and why in the world I'd put these pictures on here. Let me explain.

We've had one of the busiest weeks I think I've been through in awhile. Troll figured I'd been in the kitchen for around 35 hours this week making goodies. Let me just interject here a HUGE thank-you to Sarah Miller for all the help she gave me on Tuesday making all that candy!! Anyway, I was asked to make candy, cakes and broccoli salad for the JR/SR banquet that occurred on Friday evening. As Troll is the sponsor for the JR class we were to also help with all the decorating/cooking/tear down stuff. Fun, fun. Tuesday I was in the kitchen for 12 hours making candy (of course it would have been forever more longer had Sarah not so graciously helped me). Wednesday I finished up the nine graduation plaques I had to make for our church graduates (that was allot of fun). Thursday I made the broccoli salad. Took 4 hours to chop all those veggies (thank-you to Marie Wagner for the time she was able to slip away from school to come help). Let me tell you...our house smelled like a gigantic dirty diaper. After all that chopping I worked on the cakes until it was time to go to the kids' program in the tabernacle. Oh, my!!! That was an awesome program. I was so proud of all the kids but was really proud of my own two in it. Jetta had been chattering for weeks about what she had to do in the play and we listened as she described how she was to laugh like an evil person and how she had to stand at the top of this really high ladder!! Austin told us the parts he had to play and then in passing mentioned he had to sing. I figured he meant singing with the class. I was never more surprised when I heard his voice coming across the microphone all by his lonesome. I'd had to step out with Bia who was creating a scene and didn't even know he had to sing! I could kick myself for not taking our camcorder or camera. Anyway, they did super and I wanted all who read this to know that I was one proud mama!! After that I finished the cakes. Friday consisted of finding and taking my kids to their babysitter in Allensville and going to the banquet. We got to bed that night at 1:00. Back up the next morning to make two grad cakes for a party that eve. By 3:30 Saturday afternoon I'd had it. (After all that chatter I finally get to the reason of the picture! Sorry) I went to Troll, who'd just started mowing and told him I'd rather be out there. So at 4:00 I went out and took over the mowing. I love to mow. Since our riding mower has decided to rest this summer (!) we had to borrow a push mower. Even better!! I took the mower and did that for the next almost 3 hours. Loved it. Troll took the four oldest kids and cakes and went to the grad party. You see, I'm just not a people person. After our week of almost constantly being around people.... it was more than time to spend alone. Bia enjoyed harassing the dogs, drinking out of their water bowls, running away and sliding down the slide. Now to the pictures and title of this post. My mom has always said, "You need to wear shoes when you mow." I don't like to wear shoes when I mow. Can't stand it. Never made sense to me. Seriously. If you're gonna slip and catch your foot in the mower it's gonna get chopped no matter what you're wearing or not wearing. Personally I'd rather just have chopped foot than chopped foot with shoe mixed into it! But I knew mom would be proud to see I've at least graduated to wearing flip flops when I mowed!! And the only reason being is that our grass was so high in the dog area (!) that I was afraid I'd not see those piles scattered here and there and could just see myself face first in one of them! Cause bare feet and piles are allot slipperier than flip flopped feet and piles. So the pictures are for my mom. I'm sure she'll be pleased as pie!!!
And now that I've totally bored you with this post.....I'll quit.

Escaped me

First of all...sorry to Austin for not taking time out of our busy lives to put you on the blog. He turned the big 10 last Monday and we were at my parents home to celebrate or I would have. Happy birthday, buddy. You have truly been a blessing to us and we thank the Lord for you. We are also so thankful that you've put up with us being your family for all these years!!! We love you soooo much!

Second of all...a big congrats to our pastoral family in the birth of their new little guy on Wednesday. I don't have a picture (unfortunately) or it would be on here, too. He was born at 8:02 a.m. the 16th. Tyler Matthew weighed in at 7 lb. 6 oz. and was 18" long. I got to stop at the hospital on Thursday to see him and was astounded at how cute he is!! Ha! I say that as he looks like his daddy!! He is adorable and I love him already. We're so happy for you, Ellison's. We'll do our best to help you spoil him!!

Thank the Lord!!!!

We are now owners of a 1997 Chevy Suburban. God worked things out for us in a huge way and we don't want to take this for granted. Thought I'd just share these pictures with you and let you see. The mileage on it was amazing at 104,000 and the price was too tremendous for words. Isn't God great?!!!! A special thank-you to Dwight for his leg work in looking for a vehicle.
The white van in the back of the one picture was one that was loaned to us until we found a vehicle. A big thank-you to the Calhoun's for this huge gift of kindness. I don't know what we would have done were it not for friends. Thank you so much.

Things to make your mother freak!!

There have been a few things in my life that have freaked me out as a mother. Like when a caught Ethan eating the toilet bowl brush around 10 months old or saw him dipping out of the toilet eating things that hadn't been flushed! Yes, disgusting and yes, I wanted to go grab the bleach. After thinking along this line I started to think about what in my life now would freak my mom! Along with the pictures I put on here I can think of some others. Like my kids being plastered from head to foot in mud, Quazar kissing us on the mouth, etc. So what do you do that would freak out your mom?! Here are a few of ours.
The other day Ambria came out of the bathroom saying, "pa, pa". I turned around to see this hanging out of her mouth. You see...she hasn't had a pacy for over a week now and evidently was needing one this day. It's the bathtub plug and she was sucking away for all she was worth! Nasty!

Is there anything in your life that you just hate to do? Well in my life...this is one of them! I hate folding socks. Seriously this is from quite a few laundry doings. I had an entire hamper full of them when I decided to dump them out. When your kids are running hectically around before attempting to dig through a hamper full of socks to get a pair for school...that means it's time to fold them. Mom would kill me for this!!!

I remember when we first got Quazar and my mom in law lived with us. One night after supper I saw her feeding him from her plate with one of our forks. I almost died. I was so upset over this and totally flipped out. As you can see below...nothing has changed in the past 7 years!! (Don't worry...all is washed in water so hot I can hardly stand it.)
